Project 1

Project 1: Website/Blog

Using the University, your own host, or blog service of your choice, create a website or blog specifically for this class.  You will use this as a repository and record for your research, thinking, creative process reading responses and project documentation.

You are required to make regular updates to your website, that fall into two categories: sponge and make. Sponge updates include the things you find--links, videos, images, books, data--stuff you pick up while surfing or researching, that pertains to the class. These are things that you find, that come to you.  Make updates are the opposite.  These are things coming from you--ideas, synthesis, journal entries, sketches, photos, programs, criticism, feedback, reading responses (see below).

You are required to write a response for each reading assignment. It can be a couple paragraphs or more, and should include 1-3 questions you have about what you have read.

Part of this project is a self-check to make sure you are doing something with the information you are finding/reading/viewing/experiencing.  There is a required minimum number of 4 entries per week.  But recognize that the more you put in to your site, the more you have to work with, and the better you are able to clarify your own ideas.

I will review the websites on a regular basis (they will be available for all students in the class to see), and we will discuss them at our check-ins.

This project is ongoing, to be compiled over the course of the entire term.
